Connecting Communities: One Care Kit at a time.

One skill. One kit. One child at a time. We're working to make first aid knowledge a right, not a privilege.

The Problem

A Critical Gap in Care

Globally, over 54% of injury-related deaths could be prevented with timely first aid. Yet less than 40% of people worldwide have received any form of first aid training. Children in underserved communities are disproportionately left without access.

Our Solution

Hands-On Workshops

We teach interactive first aid workshops, distribute personalized care kits to local schools, and partner globally to deliver kits to children in under-resourced countries. We also implement 'Care Shacks', small supply stations so schools can keep essentials stocked.

The Heart Note

Connecting Communities

With every kit built for themselves, students build a second kit for a child in an under-resourced country, including a personalized handwritten note. Each kit is a bridge between two communities, one act of care at a time.

What's Inside?

Every kit is hand-assembled with love.

From thermometers to toothbrushes, every kit has 11 items chosen to teach kids real first aid skills and a handwritten heart note connecting them to a child across the globe.

“I hope this makes your day brighter!! You are amazing”

Our Story

Built by Two Students, Fueled by Purpose

Friends and co-founders, Alexander Thweni and Lilyana Raishouni, realized early on how transformative something as simple as first aid can be. Through their work as researchers and volunteers at Michigan Medicine and on international medical mission trips, they learned that teaching first aid could be one of the most powerful ways to improve health in any community.

In 2025, The Care Kits Project was created to close this gap by equipping young people with hands-on health education and the resources to put it into practice. What began with two students and a shared passion for health equity has grown into a movement connecting communities locally and globally.
